AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) - An Augusta mother accused in the drowning death of her son pleaded guilty in court Wednesday.
Lisa Stocker, 39, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and second-degree child cruelty, according to the Richmond County Clerk of Court office.
A judge sentenced her to 8 years imprisonment for the manslaughter charge and 10 years probation. The judge also sentenced her to two years probation for the child cruelty charge.
Stocker was arrested in March 2012 after her 2-year-old son, Daniel Stocker, was found dead in the family's pool. Stocker told investigators she was asleep during the incident.
