    14,000 people filled the streets of downtown Augusta on June 23rd to celebrate the Augusta Pride festival. They filled the streets with bright colors and happy people all weekend for the 9th annual festival.     A large tree fell down on a road in a Beech Island South Carolina community last night.  The tree caused a big inconvenience for those who live on the street -- causing them to take longer routes to their destination.

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

A man is in the hospital after a shooting on Cooney Circle Wednesday afternoon, according to the Richmond County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded to Jennings Place apartments in the 1800 block of Cooney Circle just after 5 p.m. after reports of gunshots being fired.

A man was shot in the back, deputies said. He was transported to Georgia Regents Medical Center.

A 9-year-old child was also injured by broken glass and was being treated at the scene, according to the sheriff's office.

Deputies don't have a suspect in the shooting. They are investigating the case.
