ABBEVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies said an Abbeville man shot his son to death, who was found dead along a bridge in Abbeville County late Monday night.

Tony Jordan, 52, was charged with murder and possession of a weapon in the commission of a violent crime in the death of his son Jeremy Jordan, 25.

Deputies said Jeremy Jordan was found about 11:30 p.m. along Little River Bridge on Old Calhoun Falls Road near Gassoway Farm Road after a passer-by found him and called 911.

FOX Carolina also spoke to Nathan Napier, a neighbor who lives near the bridge. According to Napier, his dogs started going haywire around 11 p.m. prompting him and his son to head outside.

They said a woman parked at the end of their drive said she thought she saw something odd on the bridge. So Napier and his son approached the bridge with flashlights. That's when they said they spotted the victim and dialed 911.

Jeremy Jordan, 25, of Abbeville died from a single gunshot wound, the coroner said.

According to Tony Jordan's arrest warrants, he shot his son in the head long Old Calhoun Falls Road, but deputies have not released any details about the motive behind the shooting.

Tony Jordan was denied bond on Friday morning.

State Law Enforcement Division agents along with deputies are investigating the death.
