Horse stabbed multiple times, mane cut off

HAYNEVILLE, AL (WSFA) -

Lowndes County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a case of animal cruelty after a horse was stabbed multiple times in the neck and its mane was cut off.

The incident happened in Hayenville at a family's small farm. The attack happened in October, according to authorities.

The horse was taken to Butler County for treatment and spent two weeks under veterinary care.

The motive for the attack is unknown and authorities do not have any suspects.
