NORTH AUGUSTA, SC (WFXG) -

The Aiken County Coroner's Office confirms one person is dead after an afternoon shooting in North Augusta.

Calls came into the Aiken County Sheriff's Office dispatch center at 2:20 p.m. in reference to a shooting at a home on the 700 block of Sudlow Lake Road.

Christopher Rowley, 31, was pronounced dead after being rushed to Georgia Regents Medical Center, according to the coroner's office. Rowley suffered a gunshot wound after an alleged domestic argument with his friend Robin Herndon, an employee of South Carolina Probation and Parole.

Investigators with the sheriff's office were on the scene for hours but could not confirm many details. Sgt. Jason Feemster advised reporters that additional information into their investigation would be available Thursday afternoon.

The coroner's office said their investigation is also continuing at this time. An autopsy is planned for 2 p.m. Thursday.
