ENT Institute offering free reflux screenings

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

It's an epidemic that plagues almost half of all Americans - a condition you might not even know you have. Silent reflux is called the silent killer as it can lead to America's fastest growing cancer, esophageal cancer, which is growing at a rate of more than 850 percent since 1975.

On Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., ENT Institute is providing free screenings to detect reflux disease - a $2,000 value.

Using a tiny transnasal scope to examine the throat and larynx, physicians can determine if you have reflux disease.

Based on the findings of a throat examination, you may be advised to have a screening examination of your esophagus.

The screening will take place at Phipps Plaza on Peachtree Road in Atlanta on the ground level near Belk inside the mall.

You must be 18 years or older or with a parent.
