WAYNE TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -

A 14-year-old is facing arson and attempted murder charges for allegedly starting a fire at his foster home in Wayne Township.

Rescue crews responded to the 5100 block of Waynes Trace Road shortly after 7 p.m. Wednesday on a report of a structure fire. There were six people in the house at the time, including five adults and one juvenile.

Upon investigation, authorities believe the 14-year-old male, a foster child from Franklin County, Ohio, had attempted to kill everyone in the house by starting the fire.

According to the Butler County Sheriff's Office, he was physically pulled from his burning bed by the foster parent.

Authorities said the teen was taken to Children's Hospital in Liberty Township for treatment of smoke inhalation and what appeared to be minor injuries. No one else was injured.

The juvenile has initially been charged with Delinquency by Reason of Aggravated Arson, Domestic Violence, and five counts of Attempted Murder.

He's currently being held in juvenile detention and will appear in court Nov. 8.

Wednesday's incident was the second violent act recently committed by a juvenile. A Butler County teen was charged with attempted murder and aggravated arson after deputies say he hatched and executed a plot to harm his parents last week.

"It's sad that again we are dealing with the youth of our community not placing any value on life and attempting to commit murder," said the Sheriff.  "It seems every time I think I've seen or heard it all, something else comes up that proves me wrong."
