JEFFERSON COUNTY, GA (WFXG) - A Louisville woman is dead after a wreck Thursday morning in Jefferson County.
Heather Irwin Phillips, 38, was driving in the 9000 block of U.S. Highway 1 between Wrens and Louisville when a tractor-trailer collided with her car, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.
Emergency crews responded and found Phillips and her 10-year-old son trapped in their car, according to the sheriff's office. Phillips died at the scene, and her son was airlifted to GRU Medical Center. His condition is unknown.
The driver of the tractor-trailer, Clinton Washington, 51, of Davisboro, Ga. was not injured, deputies said.
Georgia State Patrol is investigating the crash. No charges have been filed.
