Tempe's Cadillac Ranch set to close Saturday

Posted: Updated:
TEMPE, AZ (CBS5) -

Tempe's Cadillac Ranch will close its doors for the last time on Saturday.

A press release stated new management has worked with Tempe Marketplace to embark on a different concept, "leaving behind wild and notorious nightlife parties, themed events and DJ sets."

The nightclub was in the spotlight after the death of ASU student Jack Culolias late last year. Culolias had been kicked out of the bar for being drunk during a fraternity party.

A 15-day search for the missing 19-year-old came to an end when his body was located in Tempe Town Lake.

The new concept for the space "will target a completely new type of audience who appreciates sports, daytime fun, food and drinks, as well as an evening out with friends," the press release stated.

The property will be closed all of November to undergo extensive construction.
