TOLLESON, AZ (CBS5) -

Bees trapped a Tolleson family in their car and stung their pet dog multiple times at their home Tuesday.

When Tolleson fire crews arrived, they found bees flying nearly everywhere.

"We got the cars backed out of the driveway and into a safe spot," said Tolleson Fire Department Battalion Chief Bob Hansen.

Firefighters found the dog and sprayed foam on the pet and the homeowners later took the dog to an emergency animal hospital for treatment.

After searching the area, firefighters found a large beehive in the walls of the house.

"Something probably aggravated them and they came out of their hive," Hansen said.

No family members or firefighters were stung.
