    The Crimson team outlasted the White team 24-12 in Alabama's 2018 A-Day game. The Crimson team scored three touchdowns, coming on a 1-yard run by Brian Robinson, a 65-yard pass from Mac Brown to Chadarius Townsend and a 46-yard pass from Jones to Xavian Marks. All of the White team's points came from field goals by Joseph  All eyes were on Jalen Hurts, who is in a tight battle for starting quarterback. The Tennessee Volunteers got more than they bargained for when taking on the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday.

The kickoff on the game saw the Tide's Christion Jones return for 49 yards.After Alabama took possession of the ball, it took them three plays to get into the endzone. The scoring play was a 54-yard gain by Amari Cooper carrying an A.J. McCarron pass. The kick by Cade Foster was good.

A four and out by the Volunteer offense gave Alabama another scoring opportunity. The 7-play drive covered 66 yards. T.J. Yeldon made the score with a 1-yard rush at 8:44 in the first quarter. Foster added the extra point.

Another touchdown was made by Alabama in the 1st after Tennessee went for it on 4th and 7 and downed. The UA offense made a 12-play drive over 66 yards. Kevin Norwood made the touchdown on a 22-yard pass reception with 28 seconds remaining in the quarter.

In the second quarter, Alabama added to the score after a 9-play drive over 81 yards. The Tide pushed down the field with several successful passes, but T.J. Yeldon made the score with another 1-yard rush. Foster's kick set the score at 28-0.

Three plays into the Volunteer's series, QB Justin Worley's pass was intercepted by Alabama's Deion Belue. Alabama was able to take the ball all the way to the 12-yard line but the ball was fumbled by Kenyan Drake at the 2-yard line. The Volunteers began a strong drive at this point and drove all the way to the Alabama 24. The drive was put to an end when Alabama's Landon Collins intercepted a Worley pass and carried it 89 yards for a touchdown. Cade Foster's kick was good and set the score at 35-0 to go into halftime.

The Volunteers got on the scoreboard shortly after returning from the locker room. Volunteer Rajion Neal opened the drive with a 43-yard rush, but the offense wouldn't get much further than that. While facing 4th and 5 on the Alabama 20-yard line, Tennessee's Michael Palardy was called in to kick 37-yard field goal.

Most of the 3rd quarter passed before Alabama found their way to the endzone again. In the 9-play drive across 98 yards, T.J. Yeldon made a 24-yard rush and a 23-yard pass reception before making the score on a 1-yard rush. Also of note was Kevin Norwood's 34-yard pass reception.

Going into the 4th quarter, Tennessee found their chance to make a touchdown. Devrin Young made a strong return on the kickoff for 45 yards and the Volunteer offense covered the remaining 55 yards in 9 plays. Volunteer Marquez North carried the ball 29 yards on a pass from Joshua Dobbs. Rajion Neal made the score on a 3-yard rush. Michael Palardy's extra point set the score at 42-10 in Alabama's favor.

Alabama followed up the Tennessee touchdown by adding a field goal. The 12-play drive covered 68 yards, but came up short when facing 4th and goal at the 3-yard line. Adam Griffith kicked the 20-yard goal, setting the score at 45-10. The rest of the game went scoreless as the backup players took the field.

Alabama takes a bye week next weekend before hosting LSU at Bryant-Denny Stadium. A kickoff time has not yet been set.
