Richmond Co. deputies search for missing man

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

UPDATE:

Columbia County coroner Harriett Garrison said there are no signs of foul play yet in the death of John Adams.

Adams was found yesterday around 5:15 P.M. at the Second Mount Moriah Baptist Church.

Adams went missing on Wednesday, October 23rd, after he had been seen leaving University Hospital. Authorities say he was distraught and had been making comments about harming himself.

A care taker at the church Saturday noticed a car had been sitting in the parking lot for some time and found Adam's body a short distance away in the woods.

His body was sent to Atlanta today for an autopsy.

Authorities said they are not investigating his death as a homicide yet. They also told fox 54 nothing suspicious was found in the vehicle.
