NORTH AUGUSTA, SC (WFXG) -

The North Augusta Wal-Mart is completely in the dark after a shoplifting suspect drove their car into the store's power box, according to North Augusta Public Safety officers.

Officers say a security guard spotted two people shoplifting in Wal-Mart Tuesday night.

One of the suspects, who is described as an adult man, got into his vehicle and tried to drive away from the security guard.

The chase ended behind Wal-Mart when the suspect drove into the store's power box. He was arrested by public safety officers.

SCE&G crews say it may be several hours before they can restore power to the store.

They say power for all refrigerated food has also been cut off.
