A 'Stop the Violence' rally was held Monday afternoon in Eufaula as a way to protest last week's fatal officer-involved shooting of Cameron Massey. The rally started at 1 p.m.

March participants used the event to call on everyone - police, citizens, white and black to stop committing acts of violence.

Authorities there were approximately 200 people in attendance at the march. Among them was Massey's mother, brother and sister.

Coming up on WSFA 12 News First at Four, the organizer of the march is speaking out. and on WSFA 12 News at 5, reporter Hannah Lane is talking to the family and the acting interim police.

Officials with the Eufaula City Schools closed the system Monday as a precaution in case any violence was to come of the march. A make-up day will be announced later. Additionally, all extracurricular activities (practices, etc.) and teacher/parent conferences were canceled for the day.
