1 injured, 1 in custody after shooting in South Augusta

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

The Richmond County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting in South Augusta off Wexford Court.

Deputies responded at 1:31am and found Emma Alston, 44, suffering from a gunshot wound to her left wrist and upper torso. She was transported to Georgia Regents Medical Center where she is listed in critical, but stable condition, according to Sheriff's Office spokesperson Sgt. Shane McDaniel.

Sheriff's Office spokesperson Sgt. Monica Williams said Andre Glivens, 44, was in custody in reference to the shooting. He is now charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Glivens is in custody at the Richmond County Jail.

The investigation is still ongoing.
