AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) - Three more deputies will be patrolling the streets of Augusta soon.
Richmond County Commission said 'yes' Tuesday to a grant the Sheriff's Office applied for earlier this year.
That grant will use federal funds and state funds to help improve safety on the streets.
It will allow for three deputies, their equipment, patrol cars and anything else they'll need to keep the streets of Augusta safe.
Deputies said 42 fatalities in Richmond County happened last year.
