Police investigate late-night armed robbery

BEECH ISLAND, SC (WFXG) - The Aiken County Sheriff's Office is investigating a late-night armed robbery of the Family Dollar in Beech Island.

Deputies were called just after 8 p.m. on Saturday to the store by employees who told them that a suspect came into the store, pointed a hang gun and demanded money.

The suspect ran from the store towards Sand Bar Ferry Road with an undetermined amount of money.

The suspect is described as an African-American male, medium complexion, approximately 6' to 6'03", wearing a white t-shirt, grey pants and shoes, and black hood and scarf over his face.

The suspect's whereabouts are still unknown.
