Senate candidate weighs in on government shutdown

A candidate for one of Georgia's senate seat weighed in on the government shutdown this morning.

Eugene Yu spoke at the Richmond County Republican Committee breakfast today about his platform. He says that America has moved away from 'common sense.'

Yu also said the shutdown has shown that elected officials are too concerned with their own political party affiliations and they are neglecting those who they serve.

"They do not care about the folks," said Yu, a 1974 graduate from Butler High School. "They completely forgot their common sense. They completely forgot what they are supposed to do. I'm speechless."

In order to get the GOP nomination Yu will have to defeat three congressmen: Paul Broun, Phil Gingrey and Jack Kingston.
