AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) - Saturday marked the return of college football at one CSRA school.
Students, alumni and supporters of Paine College came out for the school's first game in 51 years. Many organizations tailgated outside the gates of the Lucy Laney Stadium where all the home games will be played this season.
Students said they are especially excited and they believe home football games will boost student morale.
"I've been here for four years and this is the first time I've ever seen a crowd out here like this," said Cedric King, a senior business management major at Paine. "We're happy. The environment, the atmosphere is live and exciting. We love it. Hopefully every weekend it gets better."
