AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) - Closures on two Augusta-area roads will continue this week for road work.
Deans Bridge Road southbound at the I-520 overpass will be closed for bridge construction, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.
A signed detour will be in place using Gordon Highway and I-520 east. Drivers should expect delays and use an alternate route if possible.
One lane on Wrightsboro Road between Belair and Maddox roads also will be closed again this week for paving.
Drivers are asked to use caution, reduce their speed and be alert to changing traffic conditions in work zones.
The work on Deans Bridge Road/US 1/State Route 4 is part of the $29.8 million federal project consisting of 4.7 miles of widening and reconstruction on I-520. The road work stretches from Deans Bridge Road to Gordon Highway.
It includes the construction of two bridges on I-520/SR 415 over Deans Bridge Road/US 1/SR 4.
