AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

K9s and Richmond County deputies searching for an armed robbery suspect combed through neighborhoods off Washington Road Thursday morning.

The man deputies were looking for ran right past John Austin.

"It's scary," he said.

Austin says he told investigators the suspect was heading straight for the Center West Villas apartment complex.

While officers searched for the man on the run, they arrested two other suspects: Saintwain Ronnie Roberts, 24, and Jaron Jermaine Wallace, 23. Investigators say one of them had to be tased.

Deputies identified the third man as Johnny Weaver, 39. They are still looking for him.

Weaver's last known address was 20455 SW 92nd Street. He's wanted for four counts of armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.

Deputies say Roberts, Wallace and Weaver led them on a high-speed chase across town after they robbed the Family Dollar on Central Avenue Thursday morning.

Store managers aren't commenting about the holdup.

According to the investigators, Roberts waited in the car while Wallace and Weaver robbed the business, the employees and two delivery men before taking off.

"A car came flying by, I figured he was running from the law. Not long after, here they come, five or six police cars," said Ricky Williams.

Deputies spotted the suspects on Battle Row and chased them down Washington Road until they crashed into a tree near the Circle K convenience store.

Roberts and Wallace were arrested, but Weaver escaped and led deputies on another chase in a residential neighborhood.

"This guy is going to ruin his life over going to jail for that little bit of money, it's just not worth it," Austin, said.

Deputies found where they dumped money and a gun near the spot where they crashed.
