Deputies seek suspect in theft from vending machines

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

Richmond County deputies are looking for a man they say stole change from vending machines at an Augusta car wash.

Deputies say that at about 2 a.m. on Sept. 29, the man captured in the surveillance photos broke into several vending machines at the 25 Cent Car Wash at 3745 Peach Orchard Road.

He used bolt cutters to remove the locks on the machines, according to the sheriff's office. He got away with an undetermined amount of change.

Deputies say the man is between 17 and 22 years old. He was last seen wearing a black shirt, black pants and a Jan Sport backpack. He has a low haircut and tattoos across the top of his right and left hand.

Anyone who is able to identify the man in the photos can call the Richmond County Sheriff's Office at 910-997-5454.
