A Richmond County bus with two students on board was evacuated Friday afternoon after it started smoking.
No one was injured during the incident, said Bill Mills, operations manager for the CSRA EOA, Inc. Head Start.
The bus had two students on board from the Head Start program, Mills said. It was on Milledgeville Road near Bayvale Elementary School when the brakes locked up and caused the emergency system to go off.
The brakes got hot and caused the bus to smoke, but there were no flames, Mills said. The driver was unable to move the bus forward.
The two students were picked up by their parents.
