AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) - Richmond County health officials are warning residents of the Apple Valley subdivision to beware of a rabid raccoon.
All dogs and cats in the area should have up-to-date vaccinations given by a registered veterinarian, officials said. Residents should avoid any contact with wild animals.
Officials ask that residents report any human contact with wild animals to the Richmond County Health Department at 706-667-4234.
Any contact of pets with wild animals should be reported to Richmond County Animal Control at 706-790-6836.
