BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

Alabama head coach Nick Saban says consistency was a big issue on Saturday as the Tide beat the Colorado State Rams, 31-6. Despite the large margin, Saban says execution was off by the #1 ranked team.

"...I think this team, so far, has pretty much this season responded to whatever negative circumstance they've had to face…" said Saban, opening his post game news conference. "...I don't think we did that tonight."

Saban gave the Rams their due, saying they played with a lot of heart, but overall, the coach had issues with the performance by the Alabama players. He cited a lack of consistency in running the ball, problems in 3rd down conversions, a series of injured players and inexperience with the cornerbacks as areas that weighed down the Alabama efforts.

"We're going to keep working on it. We obviously have a difficult game next week and we have to get it right," said Saban.

Saban seemed to be upset at the chance to get some of the less experienced players on the field.

"An opportunity to play a lot of players, for us, we didn't have the opportunity to do that, even though we did get to play quite a few," said Saban.

Next week, Alabama takes on Ole Miss at home. Kickoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
