Deputies: 2 injured, 4 wanted after Wrights Avenue shooting

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

Richmond County deputies are looking for four men after a home invasion and shooting on Wrights Avenue.

The four men broke into a home at 535 Wrights Ave. around 2:12 p.m. and shot two men inside the home, according to Sgt. Monica Belser with the sheriff's office.

The victims are identified as Ricky Lee Goree, 45, and James Antonio Overton, 34, Belser said. Goree was shot in the hip and ankle. Overton was shot below his lower back.

Both victims are in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries, Belser said.

The victims fled the house and went to a nearby location, Belser said. They said the four men who broke in were wearing masks and driving a tan, newer-model Chevrolet Impala with tinted windows. Deputies say the car frequents the Harrisburg area.

The men got away with unspecified items from the house, Belser said.
