Dairy Queen manager's good deed goes global

The manager of a Minnesota Dairy Queen is getting a lot of attention these days.

He says he was just doing what was right.

His story is all over the internet, all over social media, but Joey Prusak will tell you he was just doing his job.

On September 10, he said one of his regular customers came in to order a sundae. The visually impaired man gave his order, paid and as he was doing so, dropped some of his money on the floor.

"Right then and there I knew when he dropped that $20 bill, game's over, he's not going to know," explained Prusak. "He just kept walking and that's when the lady picked it up and I thought, she's going to give it back 'cause she picked it up so quickly."

Prusak then saw her put it in her purse.

He didn't know what to say, at least not first.

The lady reached the counter herself and that's when Joey told her he saw what she did. He says they went back and forth a bit.

She claimed the money was hers. He said it wasn't and then the manager found his voice.

"I said, 'Ma'am I'm not going to serve someone as disrespectful as you, so you can either return the $20 bill and I'll serve you or you can leave,'" said Prusak. "And she goes, 'Well it's my $20 bill,' and I go 'Well then you can leave.'"

She left, not happy.

Other customers saw what happened and one of them wrote an email to Dairy Queen.

"When a customer sends an email to Dairy Queen, it gets forwarded to the owners of the locations," said Prusak.

The boss got a hold of it and pinned it to the board.

A co-worker got a hold of it and put it on Facebook.

"People started sharing it," said Prusak. "Pretty soon it's on Reddit and it's one of the top things on Reddit and all of a sudden it's gone viral."

Prusak gave the man $20 out of his own pocket.

Queen Latifah was so intrigued by the story, she called him and wants him to be on her new show.
