2 dead after motorcycle collides with deer in Barnwell County

BARNWELL COUNTY, SC (WFXG) -

A couple is dead after their motorcycle ran into a deer Sunday night in Barnwell County, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol.

David Roger Lee and his wife Carolyn Lee were riding their motorcycle on Reynolds Road when they collided with a deer around 8:20 p.m. near Freedom Road, according to the Barnwell County Coroner's Office.

Lee and his wife were thrown from the motorcycle and died from head trauma, according to the coroner's office. They were both wearing a helmet.

The highway patrol is investigating the crash.

While alcohol isn't suspected, a toxicology test will be performed as required by law, according to the coroner's office.
