City of Augusta to close several roads for railroad work

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

Several roads will be closed this week so that the City of Augusta can work on railroad crossings and perform other maintenance.

Here's the list of closures from the city:

Location: Kissingbower Road railroad crossing

Dates: Monday, Sept. 9 through Wednesday, Sept. 11 until 4 p.m.

Reason: Repair

Detour: Drivers should use Highland Avenue, Wrightsboro Rd, Olive Road, Milledgeville Road.

 

Location: Sibley Road railroad crossing

Dates: Tuesday, Sept. 10 starting at 4 p.m. through Friday, Sept. 13 until noon

Reason: Replace the rails and rebuild the crossing

Detour: Drivers should use North Leg Road, Gordon Highway, Bayvale Road.

 

Location: Wylds Road railroad crossing

Dates: Wednesday, Sept. 11 through Friday, Sept. 13

Reason: Replace the rails and rebuild the crossing

Detour: Drivers should use North Leg Road, Gordon Highway, Wrightsboro Road and Bobby Jones Expressway.

 

Location: Barton Chapel Road railroad crossing

Date: Wednesday, Sept. 11 through Friday, Sept. 13

Reason: Replace the rails and rebuild the crossing

Detour: Drivers should use Milledgeville Road, North Leg Road, Gordon Highway, Wrightsboro Road and Bobby Jones Expressway

 

Location: Kings Way between Dearing Street and Stovall Street

Dates: Thursday, Sept. 12, 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Reason: Remove a tree

Detour: Traffic will be detoured around the work site. Drivers should use McDowell Street or Central Ave.
