AG: Leader of crack cocaine ring gets 15 years

PHOENIX (AP) -

A man authorities say ran a crack cocaine ring that sold drugs out of homes in a south Phoenix neighborhood police dubbed the "rock block" has been sentenced to nearly 15 years in prison.

Attorney General Tom Horne announced the sentence for 52-year-old David Allen Mosley on Thursday. Maricopa County Superior Court records show Mosley pleaded guilty to conspiracy to sell dangerous drugs and possession of cocaine base last week. Judge Peter Reinstein also noted that Mosley had a previous drug sales conviction and fined him $10,000.

Horne's office says an undercover detective became suspicious after a car's custom license plates caught his attention. An investigation by Phoenix police and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration led to the arrest of Mosley and more than 50 others.
