PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Are you in the market for a new pet? Now is the time to buy.

The Maricopa County Animal Care and Control spokeswoman Melissa Gable said they're reducing adoption fees on dogs and cats in celebration of "National Dog Day."

Dogs under three months of age are available for $50 and dogs older than three months are $17.

All cats older than three months can be adopted for free. Cats under three months are $50.

Gable said the prices run through Aug. 31 and will help them empty their kennels and make space for the 100 to 120 new animals that enter their shelters every day.
