Hephzibah man's body recovered from Gulf of Mexico

HEPHZIBAH, GA (WFXG) - The body of a Hephzibah man who went missing in the Gulf of Mexico on Saturday night has been found.

Panama City Beach Police said Jamarcus Bell, 27, was helping friends in distress near the Grand Panama Beach Resort when he was swept into the Gulf himself. Bell didn't resurface.

His body was recovered just before 10am Sunday, 15 hours after the search began.

The Medical Examiner's office is determining the cause of death, and the case is still under investigation. Authorities do not suspect foul play.
