Whole Foods coming to Augusta

Whole Foods Market is coming to Augusta.

The newest store in Georgia for the natural and organic foods supermarket will occupy 41,000 sq ft. and will be in the Washington Crossing Shopping Center.

Augusta will be the tenth location in the state - eight in Atlanta and one in Savannah.

"I was tremendously excited," said Mayor Deke Copenhaver. "As we look as a city and a region to become more health conscious, this is the perfect entity to becoming in at the perfect time."

Whole Foods will bring about 130 jobs and is set to open in the fall of 2014.
