Tri-State under severe thunderstorm watch

Most of the Tri-State is under a severe thunderstorm watch until 10:00 pm.

StormTracker Doppler Radar is showing showers and thunderstorms firing up around the FOX19 viewing area this afternoon.

Most of the action will be to the north and east of the Tri State but you can expect locally heavy downpours, gusty winds and possible some hail through mid evening.

After that the storm activity will move east and die down.

By Wednesday, a new air mass arrives, bringing cooler and drier air to the area. Highs near Wednesday will be near 80 degrees.

Thursday and Friday look pretty nice as well with partly cloudy skies and highs in the low 80s.

Another cold front will work through on Saturday with the possibility of a few showers and storms.
