CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OH (WOIO) -

A complaint has been filed against accused murderer Michael Madison for not registering his address with the Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Office as a sex offender.

Reporter Ed Gallek first reported on Saturday that Madison listed his address on Chickasaw Avenue in Cleveland, but the homicides he is suspected of happened miles away in East Cleveland.

Records show the complaint was actually filed on Friday by the Sheriff's Office. This paperwork is a step in the process before a case goes to the grand jury for felony charges.

Meantime, 19 Action News has obtained documents showing what actually happened to make Michael Madison a sex offender.

Madison is now accused of killing three women.

Back in 2001, East Cleveland Police said they found Madison in the act of trying to rape an 18 year old girl. It happened in a back yard near Marloes and Terrace.

When Madison saw police he ran. However, the next day the woman spotted Madison and called police. They say he tried to run, but they caught him.

Madison later plead guilty to attempted rape.
