News conference planned in AZ case of Iraqi man

MARICOPA, AZ (AP) -

Authorities plan a news conference Monday regarding charges against an Iraqi man already accused of detonating a homemade explosive device outside a Social Security Administration building in Arizona.

Recently unsealed documents show a grand jury in Pinal County on July 10 indicted Abdullatif Ali Aldosary on 18 counts of attempted murder and other crimes related to the bombing at the Social Security office in Casa Grande.

The 48-year-old also faces federal firearms charges.

Officials expected to participate in the news conference in Maricopa include Pinal County Attorney Lando Voyles, the Maricopa police chief, the head of the FBI's Phoenix office and the director of the Arizona Department of Public Safety crime lab.

Aldosary entered the United States legally in 1997.

In 2008, he pleaded guilty to felony aggravated harassment charges.
