One man is dead and another is injured after a shooting at a trailer park in Jefferson County Friday night.

Deputies arrested Olegario Rodriguez, 60, in connection to the shooting.

Deputies said the Jefferson County 911 Center received a call just after 9 p.m. in reference to a shooting on the 1400 block of Fred McDonald Road near Wrens.

Upon arrival, Jefferson County Sheriff Deputies discovered the lifeless body of Juan Antonio Rodriguez Garcia, 36, with a gunshot wound to his head. They also located Gustavo Hernandez Diaz, 23, of Geter Street in Wrens, Georgia, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Diaz was transported to GRU in Augusta by helicopter and is in stable condition at this time.

An hour later, deputies arrested Rodriguez at a nearby residence on Fred McDonald Road for questioning.

On Sunday Rodriguez was charged with one count of murder, one count of aggravated assault and two counts of possessing a firearm during the commission of certain crimes. He is being held at the Jefferson County Jail without bond.

At this time, it is believed that the shooting stemmed from an argument that occurred on Sunday, July 14th, between Diaz and Rodriguez's son at a soccer game.

An autopsy was performed on Garcia at the GBI Crime Lab in Augusta, Georgia on Saturday, July 20th.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is assisting Jefferson County investigators with the shooting as well as Spanish speaking deputies from the Richmond County Sheriff's Office.
