SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Spartanburg police said a woman trying to swipe an iPod case bit a Walmart employee in her attempted getaway.

Police said the woman tried to steal the case from the Walmart on East Main Street about 12:30 p.m. Monday and when the loss prevention officer tried to stop her, she resisted.

The woman, identified as 24-year-old Ashleigh Young, bit the worker as she tried to fight him off but was detained until officers arrived, police said.

They said the case was recovered and Young was arrested. She was charged with shoplifting and third-degree assault and battery.
