Western Massachusetts residents gathered on the steps of City Hall on Sunday evening, as part of a Justice for Trayvon rally.
People spoke on behalf of Trayvon Martin, with calls for peace and justice.
The "Raging Grannies" sang songs calling for justice to be brought in Florida, where George Zimmerman was found not guilty of killing the teenager on Saturday night.
Those in attendance were very emotional about the verdict, but said one positive could be found in all of this.
"The positive thing that should come out of this is that it is building a movement, it is continuing to build a movement and invigorate a movement that has been around since after the Civil War and before the Civil War, but it is really difficult to get anywhere," said Pelham resident Jean Sherlock.
The Northampton rally was one of many across the Commonwealth and the nation on Sunday.
