On Thursday, two police departments and a county drug unit executed a search warrant in Fostoria, discovering a substantial amount of marijuana plants, drug paraphernalia, suspected stolen property and more.
The Fostoria Police Department, along with officers from the Tiffin Police Department, teamed up with the Seneca County Drug Task Force METRICH Enforcement Unit to execute a drug-related search warrant in the 100 block of Hale Drive in Fostoria, the residence of three men.
The search unveiled 224 plants, additional processed marijuana, drug paraphernalia, criminal tools, RX prescriptions, marijuana cultivation supplies, suspected stolen property and U.S. currency.
Charges are pending for Brandon Navarro, 30, Ryan Steward, 26, and Logan Cole, 26, following further investigation and lab testing of the suspected marijuana. The charges include possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, marijuana cultivation and possession of criminal tools.
"The estimated street value for a mature marijuana plant at the time of cultivation would be approximately $1,000 per plant, which would represent approximately $224,000 worth of marijuana was confiscated from the residence and prevented from reaching the streets in the Fostoria community," said Capt. Pat Brooks with the Fostoria Police Department.
Citizens are encouraged to continue reporting suspicious activity to their local agencies or the Seneca County Drug Task Force METRICH Enforcement Unit Crime Hotline at 1-877-446-DRUG.
