COVINGTON, KY (FOX19) -

Police served several warrants during a drug raid on both sides of the river on Wednesday morning.

Raids were conducted on several addresses in Covington, Mt. Auburn, Jamestown and North Bend and resulted in nine arrests.

FBI officials say the raids were the result of a 15-month investigation by the Kentucky Safe Streets Task Force out of the Covington Resident Agency. Multiple searches were conducted against alleged members of a drug trafficking organization in the region.

Cooperative investigative efforts were made by task force officers, including FBI Agents, and members of the Cincinnati, Covington, Erlanger, Florence, and Independence Police Departments as well as the FBI Cincinnati Safe Streets Task Force and the Northern Kentucky Drug Strike Force. Criminal complaints will be filed out of the U.S. Attorney's Office, Eastern District of Kentucky.

"Drug trafficking severely erodes our communities and this investigation is an excellent example of how law enforcement partnerships are the most effective weapon to combat crime" said Perrye Turner, Special Agent in Charge of the Kentucky Office of the FBI.
