Freedom Center offers '6 Words for Mandela' - WFXG FOX 54 - News Now

Share 6 words with Nelson Mandela

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

If you could say six words to one of the world's most iconic and inspirational figures, what would you say?

The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center's 6 Words for Mandela is a way for people to honor the legacy of Nelson Mandela's courage, cooperation and perseverance.

This is happening in two ways here in the Queen City.

Patrons who wish to pay tribute to Mandela can go to the Freedom Center and fill out a "6 words for Mandela" card which we are displayed in the Freedom Center's front lobby. The card must contain six words; no more or no less. The freedom center will collect these cards and send to the South African consulate to be given to Mandela's family.

No entry or admission fee to Freedom Center is required to participate.

More tech-savvy users can use social media platforms to reach out to the former South African President. Share

Twitter users can share their six words for Mandela by tweeting your thoughts to #6words4mandela. The Freedom Center will be re-sharing these thoughts with the twitter handle @6words4mandela.

Organizers say they wanted to give people in the community and national and international social media audience a way to celebrate the south African's  courageous spirit.
