PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
A man accused of burglarizing a dentist's office in southeast Portland was arrested after jumping off the roof.
Police were called out to 13908 SE Stark St. at 8:22 a.m. Sunday. Sonitrol was providing updates to officers as they drove to the scene, according to Portland police. The security company reported hearing noises from inside the business, as well as the rooftop.
Officers said the suspect, later identified as Nicholas Dodd, 34, jumped off the roof as they arrived at the scene. He was arrested after a short chase.
Investigators said Dodd entered the building through a roof access panel and then kicked in a door to the dentist's office.
He was booked in the Multnomah County Jail on charges of second-degree burglary. Dodd was arraigned Monday and his bail was set at $10,000. He is due back in court July 16.
