Woman calls 911 after suspected bank robbers take break at her home

DORCHESTER COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -

Two men suspected of robbing a bank are behind bars after a woman and her husband came face to face with the duo at their home in Ridgeville.

The North Charleston Police Department arrested 23-year-old Tyrone Darius Ellison and 27-year-old Ronald Lamont Lance Tuesday morning after a woman called authorities to her home on Campbell Road.  Deputies found the two men at the front porch.

"I think the two guys that robbed the bank in Dorchester County are sitting in my front porch," the woman can be heard telling an emergency dispatcher in a 911 call. "They came up the roadway. One of them looked like he was hurt."

The woman told police that the two men, later identified as Ellision and Lance, came to the couple's home in Ridgeville and asked to use their phone, but were unable to get in touch with anybody. The husband then called a cab company to pick the two up who then waited at the porch.

The woman said she got suspicious after the two men said they did not want to get the couple in trouble with police.

"I didn't know who they were till I got a message saying they were in our area," the woman said referring to the suspected bank robbers."I looked up on Live 5 News and swear to god!"

According to the woman, one of the men that was sitting on her front porch was wearing the same exact shoes that were seen on a surveillance picture she found on Live5news.com

"It's the same shoes," the woman tells the emergency dispatcher.

As officers approached the home, the woman says the two men began to behave suspiciously. In the call, police can then be heard telling the two suspects to get on the ground.

Investigators say Lance, Ellison and 29-year-old Christopher Nehemiah Coburn robbed the Suntrust Bank on Dorchester Road Monday afternoon. An incident report states a pursuit then began during which Coburn, the getaway driver, was pushed out of the car by the other two suspects.

Coburn was arrested late Monday, but authorities were unable to locate the other two suspects who fled the scene of a crash on Highway 61 North near Givhans when the suspects' car crashed into another vehicle, causing life-threatening injuries to a husband and wife from Ridgeville.

The couple were still listed in critical condition at Medical University of South Carolina on Wednesday.
