Twin sisters each died in their sleep nearly five years apart. Now, family and friends are trying to reunite them for their eternal rest.

Allyson Burrill had just turned 21 when she passed away.

"It was very difficult," said Mamie Brooks, family friend. "It was very spur of the moment. You don't expect it, because she is so young. She had a bright future, everything going for her. She is just gone. It's a terrible tragedy. "

Allyson was going to the University of North Carolina Pembroke and was about to join the Air Force.

"One of my proudest memories was the day that she called me to tell me she had gotten a pilot's slot in the Air Force," said Brandi Helton, Allyson's school counselor.

Helton got to know Allyson throughout the years after her twin sister Danielle died in her sleep at the age of 15.

"I have two younger sister's that are twins, so I could kind of understand the bond that her and Dani shared. I was someone she felt comfortable with talking to and even though I never met Dani personally, I got to feel like I really knew her," said Helton.

The twins were very close throughout their lives. Family and friends are now raising money to have them buried side by side.

"We are hoping that we can join the girls together," said Helton. "They are twins and for anyone that knows twins, especially girl twins, they are together 90% of the time. It just doesn't seem right for their resting places not to be together"

Twins together at birth, separated by death, and soon find their final resting place together.

Family and friends are trying to raise funds for the "Reuniting Dani and Ally Memorial Fund." The remainder will go towards the scholarships "I Can Do All Through Christ: The Danielle C. Burrill Memorial Scholarship" and the"Living Her Dream: The Allyson H. Burrill Memorial Scholarship."
