Boy, 9, taken to hospital after being struck by SUV

MT. AUBURN, OH (FOX19) -

A 9-year-old boy is in critical condition at Children's Hospital after he was struck by a vehicle on Monday afternoon.

It happened just after noon in the 200 block of Kinsey Avenue.

Police say Erica Snider, 25, was driving westbound in a Jeep Liberty when she hit the boy riding on a bicycle. Police say the child, Montez Clayton, rode into the street from behind a parked car in a driveway, failing to stop for oncoming traffic.

There was another female and two children inside the Snider's Jeep. They were not injured.

Speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in this crash.

The accident remains under investigation. There's no word on if charges will be filed.

The Traffic Unit is continuing the investigation and any witnesses to this crash are asked to contact the Cincinnati Police Department's Traffic Unit at 513-352-2514.
