Former State Senator Lowell Barron has entered a plea of not guilty. Barron waived his arraignment hearing Tuesday and entered a written plea of not guilty.
Barron is accused of misusing campaign funds.
Investigators said he wrote checks totaling $56,000 to a staffer named Jill Johnson.
Barron was indicted on six counts of ethics law violations and violations of the fair campaign practices act.
