Toledo mom goes on trial for baby's death

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

The trial for a Toledo mother accused of killing her baby starts Monday.

Prosecutors say Amanda Bacon, 25, violently threw her 6-month-old son Avery in an apartment on Alexis Road back in December 2012.

Bacon and another man brought the baby to an emergency room. The staff recognized the severe head injuries and called the police. The baby died a few days later from his skull fractures.

Bacon is charged with aggravated murder.
