FLAGSTAFF, AZ (AP) -

Construction hasn't yet begun on a $200 million mill planned in Winslow as part of a large forest restoration project.

The Arizona Daily Sun reports that Montana-based Pioneer Forest Products had planned to break ground on the mill this month, but the company hasn't lined up investors to build the mill, which would convert the timber into things like laminate wood panels.

"We're still seeking financing. We're talking to a company that's very interested," said Pioneer Forest Products spokesman Marlin Johnson.

The company was contracted to thin 300,000 acres over 10 years. That's part of a 20-year plan to restore 2.4 million acres along the Mogollon Rim to a natural fire regime, reduce wildfire threats and create sustainable forest industries
