LAKE MEAD (FOX5) -

Famed environmental activist Erin Brockovich-Ellis was arrested at Las Vegas Boat Harbor at Lake Mead on Friday, accused of operating a boat under the influence, according to the Nevada Department of Wildlife.

According to a statement, an officer saw Brockovich-Ellis struggling to dock her boat and attempted to help her. He noticed Brockovich-Ellis showed signs of intoxication. Following an investigation, a game warden arrested Brockovich-Ellis and transported her to the Clark County Detention Center. Authorities said she was cooperative during the investigation and arrest.

Brockovich-Ellis constructed a legal case against Pacific Gas and Electric Company in 1993 which inspired an eponymous film that garnered actress Julia Roberts an Academy Award for Best Actress.
